CHEATING
cheating
each other
out of some malignant sense of fear
of reprisal.
Instead ,we choose to revel
in denial
thereby, cheating ourselves
out of an experience
which is rightfully ours
which is rightfully ours
Talking with you on a soul level
each and every night
hoping you feel me
but never having the courage to
ask you, tell you
what i so deeply know and see
what i so deeply know and see
Both of us trying to cheat time
by getting glimpses into a future
that isn’t yet ours
and yet
we refuse to act
preferring instead to reside in stasis
unable to reach an armistice
but can we cheat the future?
our fate?
I still believe in
infinite possibility
one where outcomes can be reached
through thoughts and visions
and ultimately actions
where we rewrite
and ultimately actions
where we rewrite
on a moment to moment basis
NEVER
remaining in stasis
the future is not set in concrete.
