ENSHROUDED

ENSHROUDED

They say it's to protect your sexuality
But as your sister I will never see it that way
Will I ever get to see the beauty of your smile?
Or are you taking refuge
so I don't see the despair in your eyes

I see you walking past me on the street
in the oppressive summer heat
I want you to experience  life
where you are no longer concealed
where you are free to dance

Why oh why would any creator
want to enshroud such an exquisite flower?
Your darkened eyes veil the colours of your soul
I want to see you allowed free suffrage
No more draping your quintessence
and intellect in a perpetual prison

You were born a woman
who gave anyone the right
to snuff out your light
when you should
instead shine bright
It's your birthright
Your Liberty

  1. Nicely done, Teresa. There is beauty in all things. To cover it in the jealous sequestration of religion or tradition seems to magnify the beauty of the woman bridled, for it is then our minds fill in the missing (covered) parts with ethereal beauty...

  3. You belong among the ancients in the hall of infinite wisdom. How is it possible to be so vivid and direct, yet wrapped in love and care. You mesmerize, spellbind, educate and influence with your gift. I am grateful to have such a friend and am in total awe. <3<3<3

    1. You are just too kind Diana.
This is a very sensitive topic to discuss, something Ive thought about for a long time.
I try to understand all sides of the argument, but in the end my heart and conscience tells
me what is true for me.
      Thank you eternally
